As part of our commitment to uplift the underprivileged, our Empower Foundation team recently visited FundaVida – a Costa Rica-based nonprofit organization. The purpose of the visit was to support FundaVida in their mission to empower youth from vulnerable and troubled communities through education, counselling and financial aid.
Our team’s visit centered around learning about FundaVida’s vision and analyzing how we can contribute to their mission and goals. We had a great time interacting and conversing with the bright children there, and motivated them to focus on education.
Children in vulnerable neighborhoods are often at risk of getting trapped in cycles of violence and crime. It was inspiring to meet Chris Dearnley – Founder of FundaVida – along with his team and witness their commitment and hard work to overcoming this problem and building a brighter future for at-risk children.
FundaVida, much like Empower Foundation, believes in the transformational power of education. By providing free computer and English language courses, as well as other tutoring services – FundaVida teaches Costa Rican youth important employable skills. This empowers them to become financially independent and make their own way in life. Additionally, the team also offers professional guidance and psychological counselling to the students to keep them motivated and on the right track.

Our team deeply resonated with the FundaVida Motto “Hope Changes Everything” as the vision of Empower Foundation also centers around providing hope and opportunities. The visit ended with Empower Foundation signing a partnership with FundaVida and distributing gifts to Children. We are proud to collaborate with such an inspiring organization to help at-risk youth break free from poverty and make a positive difference in society.
