Supporting youth through career counseling
In line with our efforts to uplift and empower groups with limited opportunities, our team at Empower Foundation held interactive career counseling sessions for underprivileged youth in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. Our initiative helped guide over 100 students to find their passion and choose the right career path.
Schools in underprivileged communities lack student counseling. Having limited guidance at their schools, students end up confused and unable to make the right career decision. That is why we arranged these sessions for students at Idara Al-Khair Karachi and Roshni Model High School Lahore to help them find the right direction and pursue their dreams.
During the session, we enlightened students about new fields of work and job roles to help them gain exposure of the vast number of opportunities out there. We learnt about their passions and provided guidance on how they can align their goals with practical planning and skill-building to turn their dreams into reality.
Inspiring Students
Our team motivated the children by sharing inspiring real-life examples and personal stories. The floor was open for students to freely discuss their aspirations and queries. We were happy to see the curiosity and diverse set of interests in the students who inquired about pursuing careers in architecture, medicine, fashion, design, art and much more!
“The career counseling session was very informative. I learned about many exciting opportunities and feel inspired to do more in life and achieve my dreams!” – Sarah, student at Roshni Model High School.
Our session taught students to not only focus on education and skills-building, but also on the importance of good values and ethics in the professional world. They were taught the importance of early planning, hard work and dreaming big.
At Empower Foundation, we are committed to providing career and growth opportunities through various initiatives to provide education, vocational training and counseling sessions for women, children and underprivileged sections of society. These career counseling sessions were aimed towards the same. We were glad to motivate the students, reinforce their educational commitment and prepare them for brighter futures.
